Position Overview:

Located in downtown Toronto, Garfinkle Biderman LLP is a cohesive, efficient, and forward-thinking law firm, powered by a team of lawyers specializing in a wide range of practice areas.

We are currently seeking a Real Estate Law Clerk (Residential/Commercial/Development) who is organized, detail-oriented and demonstrates strong communication skills as well as professionalism to join our team.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with experienced professionals and gain direct experience in a dynamic and challenging legal environment.

Responsibilities include, among others:

  • Conducting on/off title searches.
  • Directly communicating with clients and facilitating the financing of projects.
  • Working with purchasers, vendors, borrowers and lenders.
  • Handling a variety of purchases, sales and mortgage files from inception to completion.
  • Prepare and review deeds, affidavits and agreements of purchase and sale.
  • Organize and coordinate files and closings.
  • Conduct title search and registrations of documentation in Teraview and Conveyancer.
  • Draft transaction documents, send requisition letters and conduct title searches for residential and commercial purchases, sales and mortgage transactions.
  • Experience with Land Titles Applications (LTA) and historical title searching is an asset.
  • Perform ancillary duties, including administrative tasks, as requested from time to time.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2-3 years experience as a real estate clerk within a law firm.
  • Completion of a Law Clerk Diploma is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MSOffice, Teraview and Conveyancer.
  • Ability to work independently with strong follow up skills.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication (oral and written) skills
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills and time management skills.
  • Self-starter, motivated and hardworking.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, integrity, and client service.
