We are currently seeking a commercial litigation associate with large firm experience to join our busy and growing litigation team.
The ideal candidate will have at least 2-6 years of well-rounded commercial litigation experience in a broad variety of areas including commercial litigation, insolvency, commercial insurance claims, mortgage enforcement or construction claims. Candidates with strong property dispute and insolvency/receivership experience are preferred.
The successful candidate will have experience handling matters independently and enjoy working with a larger team on more complex matters.

Summary
We are currently seeking a Litigation Law Clerk who is organized, detail-oriented and demonstrates strong communication skills as well as professionalism to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Preparation, service, and filing of court pleadings, motions, Affidavits of Documents, and other court documents for multiple jurisdictions, including but not limited to the provincial Superior Courts, Commercial List and Courts of Appeal
- Prepare for trial, including pre-trial memorandum, organizing for trial, arranging witnesses, and pre-hearing and Hearing preparation.
- Communicate with lawyers, team members, clients, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases and projects.
- Drafting correspondence.
- Coordinating with court offices and scheduling of appointments.
- Organize and maintain office files and records in accordance with the firm’s procedures.
- Managing litigation and mortgage enforcement matters from start to finish.
- Coordinating with process servers and court offices.
- Drafting/proofreading, serving, and filing legal documents.
- Review discovery undertakings, lawyer notes, transcripts, and prepare and obtain Answers to Undertakings.
- Monthly Billing.
- Accountable for all assigned work.
- Working with various programs such as Adobe, DocuSign, Onekey, ACL, and Ghost Practice or other billing software, etc. as required.
- Administrative tasks including filing, scanning, docketing, calendar management, client meetings, closing/opening files, and timekeeping.
- Assist others with work overflow when required.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Law clerk, legal assistant, or paralegal diploma/certificate is required.
- Minimum 3 or more years of Litigation experience.
- Strong knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure and provincial practice directions.
- Experience with Electronic Billing and Document Management Systems.
- Proficient in the use and application of Adobe, Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with document review.
- Strong interpersonal skills for liaising with clients, lawyers, and court offices.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, as well as bring a positive teamwork attitude to the workplace.

Summary:
We are currently seeking a Junior level Securities Law Clerk who is organized, detail-oriented and demonstrates strong communication skills as well as professionalism to join our team.
Responsibilities include, among others:
- Draft legal materials for prospectus offerings.
- Draft brokered/non-brokered private placement financings documents (i.e., subscription agreements, control document, press releases, material change reports) including post-closing filings as required (i.e., report of exempt distributions, SEDI insider reports)
- Draft and file disclosure documents on SEDAR+ (i.e., early warning reports, management proxy materials, notice of meeting and record dates)
- Prepare and complete stock exchange, SEDAR+, SEDI and NRD filings as required.
- Conduct searches of public company information on SEDAR+.
- Support all aspects of securities registrations and filings.
- Track critical dates and initiate follow-up action.
- Update minute book information and filings for reporting.
- Advise on filing fee and participation fee calculations and filings.
- Liaise with clients, accountants, lawyers and regulators by telephone and in person to take instructions and obtain information, and reporting on status of matters.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 0-2 years experience as a Securities law clerk
- Law Clerk or equivalent degree/diploma
- Proficiency working with SEDAR, Corplink, Disclosure net
- Knowledge of Canadian securities law and corporate law
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a demanding work environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and project management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
